McMaster Continues its Partnership with Academics Without Borders in Global Activities
McMaster, member of Academics Without Borders network of Canadian universities and colleges, continues its commitment in fostering global citizenship beyond campus working together with AWB in Kenya where Dr. Andrea Hemmerich, Lecturer at School of Engineering Technology, is involved as a volunteer in a project to assist the Meru University of Science and Technology in Kenya to develop a MSc in Medical Physics and through memberships of Dr. Tom Marlin, Professor Emeritus, Chemical Engineering, along with David Wilkinson, Professor Emeritus, Materials Science and Engineering, in the Strengthening Engineering Research volunteer team.
AWB is a virtual, volunteer-driven NGO that connects academics in the developed world with colleges and universities in developing countries and in the upcoming weeks will be continuing expanding its efforts through two more initiatives. One is a new volunteer opportunity that will be released to the Network and the other is the Call for Proposals, expected to open on October 1st.
