Lawrence Krader was an American anthropologist and philosopher and former Director of the Institut für Ethnologie at the Freie Universität in Berlin. He left some 153 unpublished manuscripts at the time of his death in 1998. He provided financial support to establish The Lawrence Krader Research Project at McMaster which has published a number of these manuscripts and organized an international conference at McMaster involving scholars from Mexico, Germany and Canada. The conference papers will be published in 2018.
