Surprisingly, a model can be sensitive the the form of the mathematical expression used to model how the prey interacts with the predator. Different functions that fit the data as effectively and have the same shape can result in models that have very different dynamics.
Impact
Learning about the limitations of model predictions is extremely important when such predictions are used to manage our wildlife and resources.
