These two municipalities were among several that received funds from FMCSV to enhance integration and programs in the area of early childhood, with a long-term intent to enhance the overall developmental skills of all children in the community. One of the evaluation strategies of this multisectoral integration in early years included collecting information on the developmental status of children prior to school entry; at about 5 years of age.
Impact
This project evaluated the impact of newly implemented early years services, providing information on the benefits of the increased investment in early childhood development.
Student Experience
Enhanced students understanding of early education and development in Brazil while providing the student with the opportunity to work with partners abroad. Contributed to student’s Master’s degree.
