McMaster University Joins Global Climate Dialogue at COP29
Through the dedicated work of McMaster’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), in partnership with the Office of Sustainability, Planetary Health, the Department of Family Medicine, and CMPA, McMaster is poised to make significant contributions to the global climate dialogue. McMaster University will participate in the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11-22, 2024, COP29 is set to convene global leaders, policymakers, and experts to drive impactful climate action.
In collaboration with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), McMaster has submitted a proposal to represent at the Canada Pavilion at COP29. This pavilion serves as a strategic platform for Canada to highlight its climate leadership, advance innovative solutions, and underscore the importance of cross-sector collaboration. Through a unified effort, representatives from government, Indigenous communities, industries, youth organizations, academia, and civil society will demonstrate Canada’s commitment to combating climate change.
