McMaster Attends European Association for International Education Conference
McMaster University made a significant entrance at the 34th Annual EAIE: European Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition in Toulouse, France, marking its inaugural participation with a dedicated booth in the EDUCanada pavilion. This initiative, a collaborative effort among the CMPA, SSC, and the OIA, showcased McMaster’s commitment to global education. McMaster was represented by Amira El Masri (Director, OIA) and Gisela Oliveira (Associate Director, Career Development, Global Mobility and International Student Success) who engaged in over 52 meetings with both new and existing partners, focusing on opportunities for student and faculty mobility, scholarships, and program collaborations. This strategic presence highlights McMaster’s dedication to expanding its international reach and fostering educational partnerships.
The EAIE is one of the largest gatherings for international higher education professionals, providing a platform for dialogue on trends, challenges, and innovations in global education. This year’s theme, “En Route!”, truly captured the spirit of our journey in international education. With over 6500 participants from around the globe, it was an inspiring event filled with networking, learning, and collaboration. Ahead of the conference, Universities Canada and France Universités signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster strategic collaboration between the universities in both countries on teaching and research. This agreement represents a significant step toward advancing student mobility, research collaboration, research security and joint programming opportunities between Canada and France and will further strengthen ties amid the Horizon Europe agreement.
