Presented by Mr. Jon Rubin, founder and director of the State University of New York’s COIL Center for over ten years and currently director of COIL Consulting, this session will provide you with an introduction to the concept and practice of Collaborative Online International Learning also known as COIL Virtual Exchange.
You will learn what COIL is, its benefits to your students and to your own professional development, how it engages international partners and generates intercultural learning outcomes, why it is especially important during these times of reduced physical mobility, and finally how implementation can be piloted and scaled. You will also learn about the resources available at McMaster to get started with a COIL project in your course.
