Inspired by our long-time supporter and collaborator David Deamer, we started to do exciting research to understand the cellular origin of life on the early Earth and other potentially habitable planets. Research is done in the new, CFI funded Origins of Life Laboratory at McMaster University. This new and unique lab is part of the Origins Institute at McMaster.
Impact
The question of the origin of life is a fundamental question, however, became urgent with the recent discovery of several potentially habitable planets in close proximity to us. The availability of the new Origins of Life Lab puts McMaster in a strong position to conduct this research.
