As a component of the National Assessment of Early Education the EDI was collected on a representative sample of 17,000 children in Peru.
Impact
EDI was one of the measures chosen to inform the National Assessment of Early Education. Peru committed to improving the effectiveness of the different services offered nationwide to children under 6. One of the components was the evaluate the state of child development for children attending classes for 5 year olds and to relate family and educational contextual factors to the outcomes.
Student Experience
Students had the opportunity to assist with various aspect of the project, such as data analyses, literature reviews, and creation of technical reports. This opportunity helped to inform students’ understanding of international partnerships while furthering their research skills.
