This multi-method research includes a survey of Canadian adults, follow-up interviews with a sub-sample of survey takers, and compilation of sexuality-focused policies in numerous jurisdiction. The project is designed to be comparative, with immediate comparisons with the United States, and other countries planed for future research.
Impact
This project will expand the scope of research on sexual behaviour, largely established using U.S. populations, to a representative sample of Canadians. It will explore the intersections of behaviours and attitudes, and challenge scholarly thinking on the role of policy in shaping sexuality.
Student Experience
This project will offer hands-on research experience to several graduate students at McMaster University. These students will engage in survey design, data collection, analysis, writing and revision. They will work in quantitative and qualitative research methods, gaining valuable skills and experience.
