This two-day workshop, held June 2017 at the University of Sydney, aimed to adopt a new approach to understanding the figure of the citizen by exploring both its emergence, in the context of international rightlessness, mobility, and emancipatory struggles, and its disappearance, as a national political agent in the context of neoliberal depoliticisation and dedemocratisation.
Impact
The workshop was publicized through the Sydney Democracy Network. The organizers are now working on a special issue for the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
