A recently proposed macro-model that accounts for the interaction between in-plane and out-of-plane actions on masonry infill walls is applied to the dynamic bidirectional analysis of RC framed structures with unreinforced masonry (URM) infill walls representative of Mediterranean building stock and practices. The equivalent element used to model the URM infill walls has been calibrated with experimental results from two types of clay masonry infill walls that are frequently found in Mediterranean countries.
