University of Lausanne Delegation Explores Student Mobility and Support Services at McMaster

McMaster University welcomed a delegation from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) on June 1st, 2026, for a focused visit on supporting students participating in global mobility initiatives, housing, student employment, and the digital tools that support student services. The delegation included Cédric Rychen (Director), Sébastien Cornaz (Strategic Project Officer, housing and student employment), and Frédérique Auger (Incoming Student Mobility Advisor, student exchange outside Europe). 

Hosted jointly by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Student Success Centre(SSC), the morning program featured a meeting with the OIA and SSC -Exchange Student Experience (IESE) team, focusing on student exchange processes and support for inbound and outbound mobility. In parallel, the delegation met with SSC colleagues whose work centres on student employment and career planning , with discussions highlighting how McMaster integrates career development, on‑campus employment, and housing supports within its student‑services model, as well as the IT tools that help coordinate these services. 

The visit continued with a campus tour led by an engineering student, offering the guests a student perspective on campus life. Overall, the program provided a productive platform to exchange best practices in  caeer and employment management, explore opportunities for further collaboration around student mobility.
