McMaster’s Office of International Affairs attends APAIE 2025 in New Delhi, India
Bonny Ibhawoh, Vice Provost International and Paul Leegsma, Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects, attended the annual Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). This year’s conference theme was Cultivating Global Citizens for the Future: The Higher Education Imperative in the Asia Pacific and Beyond. APAIE is committed to promoting the value of international education within the Asia-Pacific region, enabling greater cooperation between institutions, and enriching and supporting international programs, activities and exchanges.
During the conference, Paul and Bonny participated in conversations about international education. They engaged in meetings with current and potential new partners to strengthen McMaster’s collaborations with the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Ibhawoh participated in a Universitas 21 side meeting that discussed the impact of recent global geopolitical tensions on international education and how the U21 Consortium can support member institutions in navigating these changes.
