McMaster Welcomes High Commission of Canada in Barbados and the Caribbean Development Bank

On January 17, McMaster welcomed Doug Fraser, Head of Procurement for the Caribbean Development Bank; Tammy Brathwaite, Trade Commissioner, for Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, International Financial Institutions at the High Commission of Canada in Barbados; and Allison Miller, Trade Program Coordinator for Education at the High Commission of Canada in Barbados to its main campus.
The delegation met with McMaster President David Farrar and Vice-Provost (International) Bonny Ibhawoh, along with key McMaster faculty and staff for a working lunch to discuss partnership and project opportunities between McMaster and the Caribbean.
This meeting identified multiple areas for potential collaboration and will result in further discussions of research, education, and funding opportunities, especially in priority areas of interest for the Caribbean Development Bank related to higher education partnership, governance, and clean energy.
McMaster delegates included Andy Knights, Acting Vice-President (Research); Khaled Hassanein, Dean, DeGroote School of Business; members of the African-Caribbean Faculty Association of McMaster; and other faculty and staff integral to the discussion.
