On October 21, 2025, McMaster University welcomed Varun Nagaraj, Dean of the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) in Mumbai, India, for a day-long visit aimed at fostering collaboration, following the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business (DSB) and SPJIMR.
Dean Nagaraj was welcomed by McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business, including Dean Khaled Hassanein, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies Manish Verma, Associate Dean of Research Elkafi Hassini, Milena Head, Director of the McMaster Digital Transformation Research Centre and the Executive MBA Program, Behrouz Bakhtiari, Director, MBA Programs and Chris Longtin Manager, Strategic Initiatives. Also present were representatives from McMaster’s Office of International Affairs, including Vice-Provost Bonny Ibhawoh and Director Amira El Masri.
The visit started at McMaster’s Hamilton campus, followed by a strategic session at the Dean’s Office, where both institutions shared their vision and priorities, emphasizing avenues for joint research, student and faculty exchanges, and innovation in business education.
In the afternoon, the delegation toured the McMaster Digital Transformation Research Centre at the Burlington campus, exploring opportunities to collaborate on cutting-edge research initiatives in digital business transformation.
This visit marks a significant step in advancing the partnership between McMaster University and SPJIMR, reinforcing their commitment to global engagement and academic excellence.
