McMaster Visits Chinese Consulate General in Celebration of China’s National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival

Last month, representatives from the Office of International Affairs attended a reception at the Chinese Consul General's residence in Toronto to celebrate China’s National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.
On September 29, 2023, Dr. Amira El Masri, Director, Office of International Affairs, and May Zhai, Program Manager, Office of International Affairs, attended a reception hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto celebrating the 74th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. As representatives of Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh, Vice-Provost, International Affairs, and the McMaster community, Amira and May received a warm welcome at the event by Consul General Weidong Luo, Education Counsellor Renzhu Li and Education Consul Wenjin Han. They spoke highly of the collaboration in research and student exchange and reinstated their commitment to continuously facilitate cooperative initiatives between McMaster University and Chinese institutions.

Other than McMaster, representatives from the University of Toronto, the University of Waterloo, York University, and other universities and colleges in the Toronto area attended the National Day celebration.
