McMaster Explores New Academic and Research Partnerships with Cuba
On September 17, McMaster had a productive collaborative meeting with the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, exploring new collaborations with Cuban academic and research institutions.
McMaster University’s President David Farrar and Vice Provost International Bonny Ibhawoh met with Consul General of Cuba Mr. Jorge Yanier Castellanos and Consul Ms. Tania Valenzuela Veiga to discuss shared interests in areas such as student exchange programs and advancements in biotechnology, agriculture, biomedicine, and nanomedicine.
One of the standout potential areas of collaboration is an inhalable vaccine developed by Cuban researchers, which has garnered international attention. McMaster researchers have also made significant advances in developing inhalable vaccines. This meeting marks the beginning of a sustainable partnership poised to advance collaborative research, innovation, and education goals.
