McMaster Engages Saudi Partners Through Education Forum and Campus Visit

On March 31st, McMaster University continues to strengthen its engagement with partners from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its participation in the Canada–Saudi Education Partnership Forum in Toronto and by hosting a Saudi delegation on campus on March 31, 2026. The activities highlighted McMaster’s growing role as a Canadian partner of choice for collaboration in health sciences, AI, interdisciplinary educational programs, and research, while advancing conversations aligned with the priorities of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The Canada–Saudi Education Partnership Forum, organized by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), the Embassy of Canada to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the KSA Ministry of Education, brought together senior representatives from leading universities, government ministries, and education organizations from both countries. McMaster was represented by Dr. Amira El Masri, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Mahmoud Mouselli, Project Coordinator, who took part in a full day of dialogue and bilateral meetings.
During the Forum, McMaster met with representatives from a range of Saudi institutions to explore further opportunities for collaboration in areas such as postgraduate medical education, joint research, academic and professional programs, digital learning, and student mobility. These meetings also built on existing relationships, including ongoing student programs and discussions around future joint initiatives.

Following the Forum, McMaster welcomed members of the Saudi delegation to campus on March 31 for meetings with faculty and staff from across the university. Representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the DeGroote School of Business, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Humanities, and Continuing Education took part, reflecting McMaster’s interdisciplinary approach to global engagement.
McMaster’s participation in the Canada–Saudi Education Partnership Forum and the on-campus delegation visit reinforced McMaster’s longstanding commitment to international collaboration. The engagement laid groundwork for future partnerships and meaningful academic cooperation, supporting McMaster’s global strategy and its expanding relationships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
