Global Engagement Collaborations: Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh Wraps Up His Visits to the University of Liverpool and the University of Birmingham

In March 2025, Dr. Bonny Ibhawoh, Vice Provost, International, concluded a trip to the University of Liverpool and the University of Birmingham, where he attended a series of meetings with senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students. The goal of these visits was to strengthen collaboration in global engagement between McMaster and these renowned universities in England, laying the foundation for stronger partnerships moving forward.
During his visit in the University of Liverpool, he met with staff and faculty engaged in the newly founded McMaster-Liverpool Seed Fund as well as colleagues from the School of Law and Social Justice; Global Engagement and Partnerships, University of Liverpool Management School and Global Liverpool to explore ways to strengthen collaborations between the two institutions and areas of aligned interest. Bonny ended his visit with a meeting with exchange students from both institutions.
Similarly, during the two-day visit at the University of Birmingham, Dr. Ibhawoh had a robust schedule meeting with the representatives from Birmingham Global , Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Action, School of Chemical Engineering, Public Affairs, and CENTRE-UB Research Fellow of the University as well as U21’s team. He also joined the University of Birmingham team at the Commonwealth Day celebration hosted by the Mayor of Birmingham. The meetings at the University of Brimingham focused on developing a framework for collaborative participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conferences. This effort involves McMaster faculty and researchers from the University of Birmingham’s Institute for Studies and Climate Action, with a shared focus on energy transition and sustainable finance. Bonny ended his visit with a meeting with exchange students from both institutions.
