The World’s Challenge Challenge 2021
McMaster University is pleased to announce participation in the 2021 World’s Challenge Challenge (WCC) competition.
The WCC is a global competition open to all undergraduate and graduate McMaster students. Participants will submit a 5 – 7 minute video presentation in teams of 2 to 4 members on a solution to a specific global issue as identified in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (also known as The Global Goals). We encourage your team to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds and areas of study. Teams will be advantaged by incorporating multi-disciplinary approaches. The deadline to submit your presentation is 11:59pm, March 31st 2021.
Important Dates:
- McMaster team submissions (ongoing) – opens March 1st, 2021
- McMaster team submission deadline 11:59 pm, March 31st 2021
- Winning teams, McMaster round, will be notified last week of April 2021
- International round, WCC Final – June 7th -10th 2021
Winning teams of the McMaster round will be notified the last week of April 2021. Two first place winners will each receive $1500.00 and advance to the International round, WCC Final – June 7-10th 2021. The second place winner will receive $1000 and third place winner will receive $500.
The top two McMaster winning teams will advance to compete against other schools at the International WCC Final, held from June 7th -10th, 2021 at Western University in London, Ontario. The winning team of the WCC International Round will win $30,000, the 2nd place team will win $15,000, and the 3rd place team will win $7,500. Prizes will be paid out evenly among team members and given with the intention that the prize money will help further develop the proposed solution and support implementation of their idea.
