The project of this project was to characterize energy minimizers for rotating BECs. When the frequency of rotation is low, the minimizers have no vorticity, but when the frequency is increased, more and more vortices appear in the energy minimizers. Precise classification of energy minimizers is developed with methods of the bifurcation theory and the vortex dynamics models.
Impact
The project has an impact in the areas of mathematical physics. New implementations of existing techniques lead to the development of new techniques, suitable for this and similar problems.
