We initiated our first undergraduate student exchange from Spain by hosting a student in a 3.5 mo research project in our laboratory at McMaster.
Impact
We hope that this will exchange will continue with other Spainish students next year, along with undergraduate students in our program (Chemistry; Chemical Biology) as a summer project, or Coop placement
Student Experience
The exchange student from Spain was involved in developing a new capillary electrophoresis assay for measuring urinary iodine status from dried urine spot specimens as a convenient approach for population-based iodine deficiency assessment.
