Use my expertise from design, commission and operate 5 previous systems in US (Berkeley Lab), Canada (CLS) and Japan (UVSOR) to complete instrument commissioning. The microscope was opened to general users via peer review in Sep 2017, 3 months after my 2-month visit.
Impact
enabled early start of microscope use in a broad range of disciplines by French , European and international users.My group is one of those users and I will spent a sabbatical in Paris, 2018, with frequent use of the facility.
Student Experience
MSc student has used Soleil STXM (Jun 2017), and will use it again Nov017 and probably 2 time in 2018 (access by peer review adjudicated biannually for access during subsequent 6 months)
