I investigated vitamin D deficiency in the Roman Empire (3rd-6thc.CE), to provide information on attitudes towards health, child-care practices, gender- and age-based inequalities, and regional variation in vitamin D status. Data collection ended in July 2016 with 3541 individuals analysed.

Student Experience

Six MA students undertook work as RAs on this project. five of the students received paid fieldwork towards their Masters thesis and experience of working in international museums. One PhD student who also gathered data for their thesis worked on the project and two undergraduate students worked as RAs undertaking small research projects
