The project has three main aims: (i) identify species diversity with this large and ecologically and economically important mushroom family Boletaceae; (ii) reveal the relationships among species; and (iii) analyze the relationships among geographic populations of a single species Boletus edulis.
Impact
The results will help our understanding of fungal evolution and how best to utilize and conserve this important natural resources.
Student Experience
This collaborative project has allowed me to bring McMaster students and those of the Ontario University Program in Field Biology to experience biodiversity in southwestern China.
