Building on a successful model for implementation of an Oncology Pharmacy in western Kenya; ISOPP and UICC are working together utilizing ISOPP's educational capacity and experience and UICC's networking with Government Policy makers and NGO's to increase Oncology Pharmacy/Pharmacist infrastructure. The initial focus will be on the African continent, followed by East Asia.
Impact
Through the establishment of proper Oncology Pharmacy resources, and access to a trained Oncology Pharmacist; institutions in Low & Middle income countries will realize more rational use of cancer chemotherapy and supportive agents. This is realized largely through better inventory management, elimination of waste, and clinical input from Oncology Pharmacists.
