This project has examined a variety of questions about how fish cope with the extremely O2 depleted waters of the Amazon. It has examined this question from behavioural, physiological, and molecular perspectives, in various species of water-breathing and air-breathing fish. It has involved lab work in Canada and Brazil, as well as field expeditions into the Amazon rainforest.
