MacOrtho has hosted two trainees from the Netherlands (one fellow and one medical student) and has sent one graduate student to the Netherlands for international exchange terms.
Impact
This partnership not only allows the trainees to gain international experience and perspective, but also strengthens research partnerships between the two countries. The exchanges so far have led to partnerships on two major international trials and ongoing research relationships.
Student Experience
A McMaster HRM graduate student has the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands for a term to start up her PhD thesis project in European hospitals. During this time she not only advanced her thesis project, but also built her international network for her future career. She also had the opportunity to collaborate on several Dutch projects and co-authored several papers with Dutch colleagues.
