This 12-day field camp takes place early in May each year. We take 26 students from various departments in the Faculty of Science and the Arts & Science program to study the geology, ecology and culture of Iceland. We are fortunate to partner with a colleague at the University of Iceland who serves as our guide for the trip.
Impact
This field camp has enormous impact upon the 26 students who participate each year. They are exposed to a range of different physical and social/cultural environments on the trip and return to Canada with a greater appreciation of their own physical and social/cultural environment. Students also gain experience of living/travelling/working in a small team over a period of 12 days.
