For the past three years, Human Metabolome Technologies (HMT) located in Tsuruoka, Japan has been hosting one of our senior graduate students as part of a collaborative 3 month summer research project with our laboratory at McMaster.
Impact
Provides our graduate students with unique international experience working in a private company involved in applying metabolomics technology in human health. HMT makes use of the same technology that our laboratory has developed unique expertise and allows our group to translate new methodologies in a new laboratory setting for validation.
Student Experience
Graduate student research experience within a Japanese company involved in cutting-edge metabolomics research. Fosters better communication experience and cultural sensitivity on the practice of research and business in Japan.
