The Handbook constitutes a thoroughly comprehensive collection of more than xx contributions from leading authors from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America and Australasia, providing a genuinely comparative and global perspective on the development of women’s political rights over the last 100 years. It covers women’s political rights, broadly understood including not only voting rights but widely forms of political engagement. It addresses key current issues, including ethnicity and race, immigration and migration.
Impact
The Handbook comprises 7 sections, each entailing between four and six 8,000 words chapters. The sections will each take a different approach to women’s political rights, from the theoretical to the comparative, from the global to specific case-studies, from a focus on the formal to the informal.
