The three-day workshop brought scholars from eight countries and three disciplines (political theory, philosophy, and history) to Humboldt University in Berlin to discuss how the transdisciplinary field of political studies can be used to globalize political and social theory, enabling it to find new answers to transitional and global challenges and reflect critically on global relations of dominance and asymmetry.

The workshop keynote and panel discussion, held on consecutive nights, attracted a considerable public audience. Several of the papers presented have been published in different forms and the networks developed during the workshop continue to flourish.
